General

The Health Insite website offers a wide range of up to date and quality assessed information on important health topics including diabetes, cancer, mental health and asthma.

The Public Health Division is responsible for co-ordination and delivery of a wide range of Western Australian public health programs, the website provides information about a range of health issues.

The Consumer Health Services Directory is a reference web site that will help you access the vast range of health and community services provided by the State Government and some services offered by others.

Alcohol and Drug Services

The Tertiary Alcohol Project (TAP) is a harm reduction project that opperates on campus at UWA. TAP has a number of unique, interactive strategies designed to reduce risk-taking behaviour associated with excessive alcohol consumption by university students.

The Drug and Alcohol Office works across the government and non-government sector to address drug and alcohol issues in the community by providing information, counselling, referral and advice.

The Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) provides effective drug prevention for everyone, by delivering information, undertaking community development, researching priority issues and advocating for change.

Asthma Services

The National Asthma Council Australia, is a not-for-profit body, which serves the community by creating awareness and providing information about asthma.

Diabetes Information

Diabetes Australia is committed to turning diabetes around through awareness, prevention, detection, management and cure. Their website provides a variety of diabetes related information sheets.

The International Diabetes Institute is a research based organisation helping people live with diabetes. The website includes sections on Diabetes Explained and Living With Diabetes.

Men's Health

Andrology Australia is a community and professional education programme that provides information on male reproductive health.

Mental Health Information

The Stress Less web pages provide useful tips to help students mange the combined pressures of studying and enjoying uni life while meeting their non-uni committments.

Mental Health First Aid is a 12 hour training course offered on campus at UWA, the training explains what help needs to be given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional help is obtained.

Nutrition

The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating is a food guide for Australians which reflect the multicultural nature of the population.

Nutrition Australia provides scientifically based nutrition information to encourage all Australians to achieve optimal health through food variety and physical activity.

Sexual Health

The SHARE health program was developed for UWA students and focuses on sexuality, sexual health and relationships. The website provides useful information and links to the related on- and off-campus services provided for young adults.

FPWA (formerly Family Planning WA) provides sexual health services, information and training for men and women of all ages. The website provides lots of information relating to many sexual health issues plus links to the FPWA Library Catalogue.

Travel Information

The Smartraller website provides further information about travelling overseas, travel advisories, consular assistance and registration for Australians oversease (in case of emergency).

Women's Health

King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women provides information on a range of health topics and services specific to women.

Women's Health Service provides medical and clinical services, counselling, information, community talks and workshops, referral and outreach to women in Western Australia. They also have a great online Information Library.

The University Medical Centre provides links to various external sites as a courtesy. That does not mean the University of Western Australia endorses the content of those sites and it is not liable for any loss, harm or offence casused by accessing those sites.
