Referring Students

The Learning, Langauge and Research Skills team helps all students become more effective at studying, communicating and managing their time. Our focus is on developing independent, active learners.

Referring students

We suggest that you refer students to LL&RS when you identify that they want or need to:

• develop strategies in approaching written assignments
• correct issues of argument, structure, referencing or expression
• think more critically
• improve their use of information sources and manage research
• take charge of their time in order to avoid stress and meet deadlines
• gain confidence in participating in discussions and presenting information to an audience
• develop better listening, reading and note-taking skills
• develop exam strategies

Please be aware that we do NOT offer a tutoring service and that under no circumstances will we edit, proofread or correct errors in student work

Students can be encouraged to attend a drop-in session or access information via our website. If you'd like to let us know that a student has been referred then you can submit a referral form (see below).
