Using the Housing Database

If this is the first time you have used the Housing Database to search for accommodation, you should read the information below.

If you are interested in renting out a room or property to staff or students, we recommend you read the information for accommodation providers before posting your listing.

Please be aware that the Housing Officer does not hold details of any available properties or rooms to rent other than those listed on the Housing Database.

To start using the Housing Databse, click on the button.

The Housing Database is provided as an information service only. The Housing Officer does not inspect the properties or interview respective landlords or families offering private board or rooms to rent. Any lease negotiated between a student and landlord or homeowner is solely the responsibility of the parties involved.

We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any of the properties listed, nor can we guarantee the legitimacy of advertisements.

We strongly advise against paying out sums of money and signing rental agreements before viewing accommodation.

Enrolled students and staff can create an account by logging on to http://housingdb.studentservices.uwa.edu.au and registering using their UWA email.

Students who have been offered a place at UWA but have not yet enrolled can access the database by following the steps below.  A printable Housing Database userguide is also available in PDF format.

Using the Housing Database:

1. Create an account via http://housingdb.studentservices.uwa.edu.au

2. Email the Housing Office at housing@uwa.edu.au and advise the following:

  • Your account username
  • Your full name
  • Student number as advised on your offer from the university
  • The name of the course you have been offered a place in including course code

The Housing Office will then verify that you have been offered a place at the University and authorise your access to the database using your current email address - please allow  up to 3 days for this to occur if registering on a weekend or public holiday.

3. Log on to the Housing database at http://housingdb.studentservices.uwa.edu.au and search available accommodation by clicking on View Properties.

If you telephone an accommodation provider from outside Australia, please dial +61 before the eight digit telephone number listed.  If the listed number is preceeded with 08 or 04, drop the 0 and dial +618 or +614 followed by the eight digit number.
