Workshops

The UWA Counselling and Psychological Service offers free seminars for students each semester. 

Seminars run from 1pm-2pm.

Assertiveness Skills - Monday 14 September

If you've ever had trouble expressing your opinion; found it hard to state your needs; say no; or ask for help - then this workshop is for you.  This group will introduce you to practical techniques on how to deal with difficult people and situations; enhance your conflict resolution ability; and present yourself in a more confident manner.

Social Anxiety & Shyness – 4 week course – starts Thursday 17 September - runs weekly

It is more common than you'd think for shyness and anxiety about social situations to interfere with being able to enjoy life.  This series of 4 workshops is aimed at anyone who would like to learn to be more comfortable around people.  It can help you understand your fears and introduce strategies that can be helpful in overcoming shyness.  You will also be pointed in the right direction for more information and support.

Relaxation - Monday 21 September

Relaxation Strategies can help manage stress and tension, and increase wellbeing.  Come along to this workshop and be introduced to relaxation exercises that help manage stress and anxiety.  Includes: breathing exercises; Progressive Muscle Relaxation; Visualisation; and Mindfulness training.
