Welcome to the UWA Childcare Centre and
UWA Out of School Hours Care Centre
The University of Western Australia is committed to the
delivery of excellence in long daycare, after school care and
vacation care. Management and staff aim to provide high quality
care and enriching learning experiences for all children, in
partnership with their families, and in accordance with
Government regulations and National Child Care Accreditation
Council guidelines.
UWA Child Care Services provides a Long Daycare Centre that
offers part-time and full-time care to children aged six weeks to
five years, and an Out of School Hours Care service that provides
After School Care and Vacation Care for pre-primary students to
twelve year olds, during state school terms and school holidays.
A priority of access is used for all three services, and in
particular when filling vacancies on our wait list.
- UWA staff receive first priority.
- UWA students
- Working / studying parents; Families with special
needs
- Non-working / studying parents
The Long Daycare Centre is located on the corner of Monash Avenue
and Hospital Avenue (across the road from the Oral Health Centre)
and has been established at this site since March 2000 and is
licensed for 47 children/day.
The Out of School Hours Care Centre is located at 18 Parkway
Nedlands (on the University campus) and has been in operation
since February 1988. Currently experienced play leaders programme
for a maximum of 39 children/day and offer a diverse range of
creative and stimulating experiences.
Continuing the University’s commitment to Childcare,
recognition has been made for the high need for care for 0-6 year
olds, and the UWA Child Care Working Party Committee is currently
in the process of planning and building a new Long Daycare and
Occasional Care Centre for staff and students.
