Student Services Directorate

Welcome

Student Services is one of the divisions which make up the Registrar’s Office.  Its mission is to provide professional, client-focussed services and programmes that contribute strongly to the University's goals of attracting, developing and graduating the highest quality domestic and international students. Student Services seeks to promote student and staff learning, and teaching and research activities of the highest quality. Student Services comprises the following areas:

Admissions Centre

Responsible for promoting the University to prospective students and the wider community; providing information on admission requirements and procedures to prospective students, parents, and University staff to enable them to make informed decisions; and administering University regulations in relation to admission of students.

Child Care Services

Providing quality care for children aged up to 6 years attending the Long Day Care Centre and quality care for pre-primary to year 7 children attending After School Care and Vacation Care Programmes.

Centre for English Language Teaching

Responsible for the provision of intensive English language courses for international students; assessment of English language proficiency of international students; and the provision of advice about English language proficiency of international students.

UWA Medical Centre

Providing comprehensive primary health care and health education services for students and staff of the University.

Student Administration

Responsible for the management of student enrolments; the assessment and collection of student fees; the administration and scheduling of all centrally managed examinations; the publication of student results; and the conduct of graduation ceremonies.

Student Services in the Guild Village

Responsible for a broad range of services and programmes that complement the university experience including Careers Centre services, housing service, financial aid service, counselling and psychological services, and chaplaincy. For students who are new to UWA there are diversity and transition services to help you settle into the University; for students seeking to improve their learning, language and research skills there is the Study Smarter program; for students with disabilities and / or medical conditions UniAccess provides assistance and advice.

Student Information Management System Support Group

Responsible for the provision of excellent services in support of the University's use of the Student Information Management System, including system configuration, training and strategic advice to staff and helpdesk support.

NavigateUWA

Student Services publishes and maintains NavigateUWA, a University of Western Australia website designed to help students find what they are looking for.

The NavigateUWA site contains hundreds of links to websites around the university that may be of use to students, whether you are a high-school student, a commencing first year or a graduate (or anywhere in between.)

NavigateUWA is divided into four main sections: Pathway: to get you started at UWA; Study: for resources while you're studying at UWA; Life: for focus on your student experience, and Future: for steps after university.
